“Video games are bad for you? That’s what they said about rock and roll.”  -Shigeru Miyamoto

I’m not even supposed to be here today.  I’m actually supposed to be a keynote speaker at a gaming conference on the west coast, drowning in a sea of beautiful women at an open bar after party surrounded by my closest peers.  To make that a reality though, I’ve got to grind my way there with witty rapport, subtle innuendo, and good ol’ hard work.  Heeding the best life lessons from a hippie mom and straight-edge dad, I’ve managed to combine my love of gaming and Journalism degree into one of the greatest opportunities this life has offered me thus far.  All I needed was the perfect chance to get on stage; the show’s been penned for years.

Want to know how this narcissistic jackass has survived in the gaming industry thus far?  My dedication to writing and penchant for the unassuming titles that stray away from today’s adrenaline fueled world.  Let them have their modern wars and space shooters; I’d rather spend the night with an indie game or that platformer no one wants to touch.  That’s not to say I won’t pick you off from a mile away, I just find it more fun to pick up a throwback to the 8-bit era and enjoy a night with friends.  Do you remember what it was to be truly carefree as a kid, playing Super Mario Kart until you passed out and waking to find you managed to place first?  That’s what I want to feel again, and that love for gaming is what I want to project in everything I do.  From my editorials to gaming reviews, and serving as an Executive Producer and Lion Tamer on the Not FN Cute Podcast, I’ll do my best to remind everyone why we’re gamers in the first place- to have fun.  Relax, have a drink, and enjoy the jonventure.

Yes, I also make up my own words.  Deal with it.

Hi guys, love the podcast but right around episode 36 or so iTunes is no longer able to copy it to any iOS devices. Keeps throwing the message “…was not copied because the video format is not supported by the iPod” Not sure if it matters but I’m talking a 3rd gen ipod touch with the latest iOS. keep up the awesome cast :)
